Climpson & Sons are pioneers in the evolving London specialty coffee scene. Their ambition is to continue sourcing, roasting and crafting the finest coffees from the heart of East London. The Dorset based Gilded Teapot opened as a tea shop in an old tobacconists in 2010. The owner, Jo, inspired by her love of tea but uninspired by the usual mass-produced tea offerings available, set out to hunt down the finest loose leaf tea from around the world.
Celebrating craftsmanship, provenance and origin, and exploration, Jo provides us with a great tasting range of teas that we’re proud to serve.
Not only is Lorna the wife of Mike, the Minister of our partner church (Bethnal Green Mission Church), but she is also a fine baker and beverage maker.
One of our signature Beehive Beverages is our Elderflower Cordial; hand harvested from local trees and home-extracted using a secret family recipe by Lorna herself. This refreshing and thirst quenching drink is a real, homely staple of our menu that is perfect for the long summer days. Don’t ask for the recipe though, our staff aren’t even allowed to know it.
Lorna also home bakes the majority of our cakes. As well as excellence in all areas of what we do, we want people to feel at home and comfortable. Offering genuinely homemade cakes is a part of this. Tasty, wholesome, and homely goodness.
The Estate Dairy is a collective of young passionate individuals dedicated to producing and bottling the highest quality milk (and cream).
Good coffee deserves excellent milk and the unhomogenised, creamy nature of the dairy produced lends itself beautifully to our coffee.
Sustainably and ethically farmed and, most importantly, absolutely delicious; we’re excited to be working with The Estate Dairy.
Please note: The Estate Dairy also supplies our non-dairy alternative milks. We will be using Bonsoy and Oatly for those desiring or requiring lactose free or vegan beverages.
